Freedman Pursues Lawrence & Fleming Reunion
What a week we have had. Dougie Freedman was appointed last week by Bolton, and although we knew exactly what was eventually going to happen, Crystal Palace leaked the announcement that Dougie was heading up north to join the Trotters.
Jimmy Phillips managed his last first team game at the weekend, which saw Jimmy’s 11 picking up their first loss under the short lived Phillips reign. Dougie Freedman was then officially unveiled as the new Bolton boss by the club, with fans looking forward to a new exciting era under the new gaffer.
I first learned of interest from Bolton on the weekend when I was in charge of Crystal Palace for what is always an interesting game against Millwall.
I had been informed of the interest from Bolton and I had that you feeling you used to get as a young kid. I was really excited.”

A question that has been asked many a time over the last week or so is; what will happen to the backroom staff once Dougie Freedman takes over at the club? Well, it seems that our new manager has asked Lennie Lawrence and Curtis Fleming to join him at the Reebok.
Freedman made an attempt to tempt the pair to move up north, however Crystal Palace officials have rejected his move for the both of them. Lawrence and Fleming are both currently acting as Caretaker Managers for the Eagles, who are now looking for someone to take over the managerial hotseat.

If Lawrence and Fleming do end up staying at Palace, although we can’t see that happening, Freedman still has some great coaches in Jimmy and Sammy; and possibly Julian Darby.
What do you think is going to happen? One thign is for sure, we now know more about Lawrence and Fleming than we did about the coaches under Owen Coyle. Would you be happy with both joining the club? If they stay at Palace, would you be happy with Jimmy, Sammy and Julian supporting our new gaffer?
