Ole Distances Himself From The Reebok Hotseat

It looks like Bolton fans are left with no choice but to expect a different managerial appointment compared to the one they wished to have in place before the week is out.

News has just broke that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has ruled himself out of a move to the Reebok Stadium, to take over the position left vacant by former manager Owen Coyle.

“There will always be speculation when someone in England needs a new manager. There are surely 20 names who have been linked with Bolton now and it’s natural that mine is among them. But it’s not for me.”

The quote above is from an interview OGS gave to Norwegian newspaper Romsdals Budstikke. Well, it’s back to the drawing board folks. It looks like Billy Davies & Julian Darby may have just stepped a little closer to the Reebok Stadium position, or maybe Michael Appleton may be readying himself for the hotseat.

Nevertheless, eyes will be glued to the press to see whom Big Phil appoints next.

Yes, Billy Davies should be higher up on that ‘list’ anyway.
Wanderers need to hit the ground running (after stalling!) Billy Davies has done that with each team he has managed in this league. Plus Ju Darby is already working with the team. It all just makes sense to me….and he wears a suit! ;-)

OGS would have been a nice thought but to be honest he’s yet unproven in English football. He may need a season to adapt.
Do Bolton have a season to wait?  Can Bolton wait a month until  he finishes the season in Norway and with no guarantee he will come anyway!!?  If Phil Gartside isn’t careful Bolton could miss out with both Blackburn and Burnley on the hunt for a new manager. He needs to ‘sell’ Bolton to get the right man….and quick!

@Wanderer We feel exactly the same.

We should offer Billy and Julian a contract until the end of the current season and then review the situation then. It give them both time to steady the ship and hopefully gain us promotion.

Once the season is over and if we’re promoted, review their contract or get someone fresh in to re-start our campaign. Regardless of who comes in – they’ll get our FULL support.
