[Poll Results] Coyle In Or Coyle Out?

Which side of the fence do you stand on?

We’ve been asked this many a time by Wanderers fans on the Internet – via twitter, Facebook. We’re even being asked the question on our morning school runs, by neighbours, friends and colleagues who work with us.

It certainly is a hot-topic and one which any manager wishes to avoid. However, please let it be know – we only ran this poll to see what the general consensus thought. The poll itself is not a petition to remove our manager from the club. There are many fans out there, and we have spoken to a fair few personally, who believe Coyle should still be given time, however you also have fans who wish to bid farewell to Coyle and bring in someone who can turn Bolton’s fortunes around.

The poll was also picked up by The Bolton News; links to the articles can be found here and here.

As with any poll, we can’t confirm the authenticity of the votes. What we mean by this is whether all votes  placed are by fans of Bolton Wanderers FC. There may have been votes from fans of other clubs to influence/change the outcome of the poll. This, unfortunately, is beyond our control – and we have no way to restrict the poll to just Bolton fans.

There were 2 parts to the poll. One part of the poll focused on which side of the fence you were on – Coyle In or Coyle Out, whilst the other focused on which manager you wish to have in charge if Coyle was relieved of his duties.

Alan Curbishley is a firm favourite; although Steve Kean is also up there – however, we’re sure Bolton fans aren’t that keen on bringing Kean to the club. Those who have voted ‘None of the above’ have provided some alternative names; Billy Davies and Julian Darby’s partnership, Gary Neville has also had a mention and Paulo Di Canio is a strong candidate amongst fans.

A Bolton fan asked why we closed the voting so soon instead of running the poll for over a week, so that it could generate more votes – it’s simple; as we’ve mentioned above, it’s not a petition. The poll was closed today as we didn’t want any focus being taken away from the game this weekend. We wish the lads all the best, and as we’ve previously noted in another article – we’re behind the gaffer whilst he is charge of the club.

    Please. COYLE OUT!!! ASAP

Alan Curbishley or Billy Davies for me, I was willing to give Owen Coyle a chance but his comments in Friday’s Bolton News prior to the Millwall game have put him on the point of no return. The win and PPG ratio since Wembley 2011 speaks volumes and I hope the chairman does the right thing, regardless of what happens at the Den this weekend. Sorry Owen, i’m sure you are a nice man but it’s time to exit.

Billy Davies & Julian Darby for me. I think Owen is lost at the moment and the team rudderless!
Julian was 45 the other day and said that he had lived the dream of being a  local lad from Farnworth who progressed to play for his home town team and how proud he was to have done that. He’s currently keeping his hand in with some coaching at Bolton whilst he awaits a new position which is dependant on when Billy Davies gets a new management job as he’s always been Billy’s right hand man…..Could it be that he and Billy are on there way in?
Though I do sadly recall some Bolton boo boys back then that targeted Darby whilst Phil Neal was in charge.
Julian had lost a bit of form in midfield but was still being selected to play and a section of the Burnden crowd were on his back.
It would be nice to welcome him back with different Scotsman at the helm!
Just think Bolton would have David Lee, Tony Kelly and Julian Darby & Jimmy Phillips all at the club. We’d only need Super John to come back  (maybe Owen could partner Super John) and they could just put themselves out to play and get better results! ;-)

Steve Kean with 133 votes? I think some Blackburn fans have been having a laugh.

We need a manager who can sort out the problems immediately. Mick McCarthy has a good track record of getting sides promoted to the premiership, so maybe we should give him a shot.
