After Sparky Goes, Who Would We Target?
Mark Davies has been in the limelight of late, with Swansea City showing strong interest by making some serious bids for the Bolton midfielder.
Michael Laudrup is reportedly looking to increase his bid to tempt Bolton into selling the talented Davies, however we’re not quite sure what to make of it. Of course, every player would like to play in the top flight, some are fortunate to be at that level – Davies is certainly that.
If Davies left Bolton, it’s not rocket science that we’d need to bring in a player of equal or better quality. If Davies went then we would certainly have the funds to do just that. Hang on, we already have the funds to bring in another midfielder albeit it being a defensive one, but the one thing that we’re quite not sure about is whom to bring in.
Although it’s best to keep transfer details under wraps, to prevent other clubs from hijacking your potential target, we’re seeing a lack of names (for once) on whom we’re looking at – and with the start of the season just around the corner you just don’t want to lose one of your key players.
Davies is certainly an integral part of Owen Coyle’s plan for the forthcoming season, but with the power of persuasion Swansea currently have (we never thought we’d ever say that), it’s a waiting game to see whether Davies remains to be a Bolton player come the end of the transfer window.
