Rock Signing Imminent?

Reports, reports and more reports are reporting that Carlos Sanchez (a.k.a The Rock) is very close to completing a move to the Reebok Stadium.

Coyle has kept focus on bringing the former Valenciennes midfielder on a free transfer – maybe progress with this transfer may have played a part in the decision on whether to sign Kalifa Cisse or not?

Nevertheless, Sanchez is seen to be a perfect replacement for Reo-Coker and will undoubtedly strengthen our midfield further.

The Rock is set to sign a 3 year deal, however before anything is set in stone, all is currently balancing on a work permit approval.

Accrington Stanley. Who Are They? Exactly!

Everyone remembers those famous words from that advert back in the 80′s when those two kids were knocking back a glass of milk just because Ian Rush ‘drank it’.

One of the kids hoped he’d be good enough to play for Accrington Stanley when he was older.

Well, one of our own is good enough for Stanley – Tom Eckersley has completed a move to the Crown Ground after being unsuccessful at breaking into Owen Coyle’s side.

Eckersley has signed a 1 year deal with Stanley, with the former White being quoted to be over the moon to be signing for his new club.

We wish Tom all the best, and we hope he has manages to kickstart his career off properly – starting at Accrington Stanley.

                  No Deal For Khalifa Cisse

The Bolton News believes Khalifa Cisse has been told by Bolton boss Owen Coyle that his footballing future isn’t to be with Bolton.

Cisse, who isn’t short of admirers was hoping to secure a deal with the Whites in order to boost our midfield. It seems that Cisse may have done his best to try and sway the manager’s decision, but it simply wasn’t enough.

With this in mind, Coyley is still looking to bring in someone to give us some strength up front, and possibly may bring in another few faces to keep the pressure on players who are competing for a starting place.

Tony ‘Zico’ Kelly Goes To Prison

Our favourite Fans Liaison Officer is going to be spending some time in prison. Not something you hear everyday, but in reality it’s all for a good cause.

When we say a good cause, we don’t mean this in a bad way, nevertheless the former White’s player will be sharing his cell with Gary Sheader of Futurestate Solutions Ltd to raise money for the Be Strong Project which was founded by Tony and Darren Armstrong, which helps to rehabilitate drug users, alcoholics and offenders back into the community.

All monies raised will go towards the Be Strong Workshop, which requires funds for tools, benches, testing equipment, training and the first few months rent on their location.

Both Tony and Gary will be warming up their cell this coming Saturday from 7pm – 9pm.

If you’d like to sponsor Zico and/or Darren – you can contact Darren on 07860535957 or you can email Darren at darren@be-strong.org.uk
