Do We Blame Wheater Or Coyle?
Quite a few Bolton fans will be looking to lay the blame on someone for the defeat this weekend, especially when it was another game where a Whites player picked up a Red Card.
Wheater picked up his second Red Card this season after going in studs up on Diniyar Bilyaletdinov around 20 minutes into the game. You can’t blame the referee for his decision, and for once we agree with the man in black.
Clearly whatever decision the gaffer makes, the player has to go out there and do a job – that’s how it works in football, regardless of the position you’re trained to play.
Whether the blame lies with Wheater for his part in what saw him pick up red – lack of ball control and then attempted lunge, or whether it be our beloved boss who played wheater in a position not his own – someone has to take responsibility for Bolton’s latest defeat.
Questions were being asked why Wheater was in the RB position, espcially when Steinsson was available on the bench – it made Bolton’s season even tougher although Everton looked like a team that Bolton could’ve beaten if they had 11 on the pitch.
The substitutions within the game were somewhat confusing, but then again, we’re not sure how we would’ve approached the game once the Red Card was shown.
Any views on this? How do you all feel about last weekend’s defeat? Were you confused by the starting line-up?
