WHETHER it be scribbled by Owen Coyle, Gary Megson, Sammy Lee or Sam Allardyce, the first name on the team-sheet has remained exactly the same.
For nearly a decade of changing line-ups and playing styles, Kevin Davies has been the man called upon to spearhead the Wanderers front line. Alongside Jussi Jaaskelainen, the Bolton skipper has started in each of the club’s last eight opening-day fixtures and is in line to do so for a ninth time against QPR at Loftus Road next weekend.
Davies has seen them all come and go at the Reebok, surviving changes at the top and differing styles out on the pitch, but his selfless contribution has also brought out the best in many of his playing partners.
Speaking with the Bolton News, the 34-year-old Wanderers skipper runs the rule over some of the strike stars he has played alongside.
